To provide you with a seamless device selling experience, we collect information in three primary categories:

A. Personal Identification Information

  • Contact Details: Full name, email address, and active phone number (for OTP verification and pickup coordination).
  • Location Data: Complete pickup address, PIN code, landmarks, and relevant city/state information required for our field executives.
  • Payment Information: Bank account numbers, IFSC codes, UPI IDs, or other financial details required to process your instant payment. We do not store this data longer than necessary to complete the transaction.
  • Identity Verification: In certain high-value transactions or where legally required, we may request a government-issued ID (Aadhar, PAN, Driving License) to verify ownership and prevent fraud.

B. Device Information

  • Hardware Details: Device make, model, storage capacity, RAM, color, and year of manufacture.
  • Identifiers: IMEI number(s), Serial Numbers, and MAC addresses to check against global stolen-device databases and verify warranty status.
  • Condition Data: User-reported condition parameters (e.g., screen scratches, battery health) and diagnostic data gathered during physical inspection.

C. Automatically Collected Data

  • Usage Data: IP addresses, browser types, operating systems, referring URLs, device information, and interactions with our website using cookies and similar tracking technologies.

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We utilize the collected data strictly for the following operational purposes:

  • Service Delivery: To generate accurate price quotes, schedule and route pickup executives, and successfully complete the purchase of your device.
  • Payment Processing: To disburse funds securely and instantly to your preferred payment method.
  • Fraud Prevention: To verify your identity, check device IMEI numbers against blacklists, and prevent unauthorized or illegal transactions.
  • Customer Communication: To send transactional updates (order confirmation, executive tracking, payment receipts) and respond to your support inquiries.
  • Service Improvement: To analyze website usage patterns, optimize our quoting algorithms, and improve customer experience.

3. The CashDevice Data Wipe Guarantee

Your Data is Not Our Business.

Once CashDevice purchases your device, it undergoes a mandatory, certified data destruction process using military-grade wiping software. This ensures that 100% of your residual photos, passwords, contacts, and files are permanently irrecoverable.

However, you remain fully responsible for backing up your data, removing SIM/SD cards, and performing a factory reset before handing the device to our executive. CashDevice accepts no liability for data left on the device.

4. Information Sharing & Disclosure

We may share your information only under the following strictly controlled circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We share necessary data with trusted third-party partners who assist us in operating our business (e.g., Razorpay/Cashfree for payments, MSG91 for SMS updates, AWS for secure hosting). These partners are bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal Obligations: We will disclose your information and device IMEI data to law enforcement, government authorities, or regulatory bodies if required by law, subpoena, or to aid in the investigation of stolen goods or fraud.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of the business assets, subject to the same privacy commitments.

5. Data Security Measures

We implement robust security protocols to protect your data. All sensitive communications between your browser and our servers are encrypted using TLS/SSL technology. Our databases are hosted in secure, ISO-certified data centers with strict access controls. While we strive for 100% security, no digital transmission is entirely foolproof, and you share information at your own risk.

6. Your Rights & Control

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to:

  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
